DETROIT: Register now for WSU art therapy workshop
Registrations are being accepted for the Winter 2010 Saturday Art Therapy Workshop for children and adults beginning Jan. 23 at Wayne State University.
Graduate art therapy students design and facilitate the sessions, geared toward fostering participants' self-awareness.
The workshop runs 10 consecutive Saturdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Room 163 of WSU's Community Arts Building, 450 Reuther Mall.
The cost is $25 to cover art supplies.

As a support group facilitator for The Good Grief Center, D'Alia helps families heal after the death of loved ones. She uses play, art therapy and group discussions to give children a safe, loving and supportive environment to express themselves. This program has helped young people avoid unhealthy or destructive behavior by showing them better ways to cope with painful feelings. The grant money from PSEG will be used to purchase classroom supplies.
Polk County Crisis & Advocacy Services is seeking donations of books to include in the Art Therapy Program as part of a client's journey of healing.
